What is Denim, Technically?

Denim is a warp-faced twill textile woven with dyed warp yarns (typically indigo) and undyed weft yarns. This diagonal ribbing allows the fabric to be strong, yet pliable — making it ideal for workwear and fashion.

Types of Denim:

• Selvedge Denim: Woven on traditional shuttle looms with self-finished edges
• Stretch Denim: Blended with elastane or Lycra for comfort
• Rigid Denim: 100% cotton, stiff at first, but molds over time
• Lightweight Denim: Ideal for shirts and summer wear (4–6 oz.)
• Heavyweight Denim: More structured and durable (12–16 oz.)

Denim Care Guide

• Wash after 5–10 wears, inside out
• Use cold water & mild detergent
• Air dry flat or hang inside out
• Never tumble dry rigid/raw denim
• Spot clean stains to extend wear cycles
• Store flat or rolled — avoid hangers for heavy pieces
